How-To: Create Discount Codes in BCC

Process for creating an Item Discount (discount that excludes certain courses)

1. Go to http://bcc.reliasacademy.com (bcc.reliasacademy.com)

   1. Login with the following:

      1. UserName: gbeesley

      2. Password: Relias2022!

2. You will land on this screen:

3. Apply Discount code, see recording: Access this by going to browse when you update a course. Add excel file to list and see recording: https://reliaslearning-my.sharepoint.com/:v:/g/personal/gbeesley_relias_com/EZnv2KSp8KZAlGnkcZYk9b0BW3q3sKy7MJaXD7W_JlgC5A

Open

4. Create a new project that will be for your coupon(s) by selecting Commerce Assets

4. Name your project and provide a description. Select Continue

5. Select the Promotions & Coupons folder >

6. Select Promotions

7. Select the Plus sign and Item Discount

8. Create promotion by filling out promotion name

9. In template drop down box, select Get Item Discount (by Product, Category, Brand, etc.)

10. Select “unlimited” if this promotional offer is for all courses on the RA website (note: you can leave lowest priced item first, selected since this has to do with the contents of the users cart)

11. Under “Discount Type” select Percentage Off and add Percentage number in Discount section

12. Under Items to Exclude (optional), select Add Criteria and “Product” is one of “Choose Items”

13. Select Items to exclude (partner courses) – usually consisting of the following (make sure you ensure these courses are all still being offered, otherwise the promo code will not work):

• 1216354

• 1266523

• 1219403

• Academy All Access

• AMA CPT Courses below:

14. Select Availability & Coupons tab

15. Create start date and time for promotion (note: in order to be able to test promo code, you will need to start the promo code on the date you are creating it).

16. Create End date and time for promotion (note: for end date of promo, always set the promotion to end the morning after promotional date at 2 am due to time zone differences and expiration)

17. In order to create the coupons for your promotion, select the + sign under the coupons section

18. Select New Coupon

19. Name coupon with coupon code

20. Under the Parent Folder Section, select Edit dropdown. Then select edit again.

21. Select Find, and coupon folders will appear. Select folder you want to house coupon in and select ok

22. You will need to repeat step 21 for each case sensitive form of the discount code (example: Memorial23, Memorial23, memorial23).

23. Select the Sites Tab

24. Select “This promotion is restricted to the following sites and groups:”

25. Select: “Select”

26. We no longer do this as of DMI updates in November 23. Select Relias Academy Site, select add, then ok

Select All Sites, then OK

27. Select Save

28. Deploy your project by returning to Oracle homepage

29. Click on Manage Project in Content Administration

30. In author state, click ready for review, go and okay

31. In the next phase (Content Review), select action, approve content, go and okay

32. Finally, under approve for deployment, select action, then approve for production deployment, go and okay

33. Leave page up. Do something else for 20-30 mins and then refresh the page and you will see a step for “verify production deployment”

34. Test coupon codes in the shopping cart

35.  If the coupon works, you can verify production deployment, approve production deployment, go and okay.

IMPORTANT NOTE: IF ANY COURSES ON EXCLUSION LIST ARE NOT ACTIVE ON PRODUCTION SITE, THIS WILL PREVENT THE CODE FROM WORKING ON THE WEBSITE
