Edit/Add Meta Tags

The meta tags can easily be managed in Kentico as content management.

  1. After you have logged into Kentico (https://www.wcei.net/admin), you will be presented with the Kentico Dashboard.  Select the Pages tile for managing page content:

  2. In the Pages module, select the page that you wish to manage in the left hand tree selection.  Clicking the blue + icon will expand to show sub-pages:

  3.  Once you have the page you wish to edit selected, click on the Properties tab at the top to display the page options menu, and select Metadata:

  4. Update the page metadata as needed.  If the Page title field is blank, then the document name (as displayed on the page tree selection) is used instead.  On the Metadata page you can update the Page title, meta description, and meta keywords.   Also note that if the Inherit checkbox is checked on, then the page will use the metadata field from the parent (or nearest ancestor where it is set), so you may need to be aware that changing metadata on a page may affect child pages beneath the page being edited if the child page(s) have the Inherit checkbox checked on.

  5. After the metadata has been updated, click the Save button.  Note that this will only save the changes locally in Kentico.  You should notice the button next to the Save button change to Publish – all page content including metadata need to be published in order for the changes to display on the site:

  6.  An additional notes on the page tree selection on the left, when there are un-published changes saved to a page, the icon next to the page will be a yellow diamond:

  7. After the page has been published, the icon will change to a green circle with a checkmark:

  8. If you see an icon that is a red circle with an X in it, that indicates the page has been archived and is not displayed on the site (but the page remains in Kentico so it can be un-archived/published in the future):
