How to update and publish Endeca pages

This explains how we need to update Endeca pages and publish after that. Mainly focuses on SEO changes (title and description) on the page.

How to update the title and description on the home page (https://reliasacademy.com/rls/store/). Endeca home page uses OneColumnPage template and we can provide SEO title and description from the workbench.

  1. With ATG 11.3.2 upgrade, there are some changes in Endeca Experience Manager. The work should be made under a project, and publish the specific project the changes were made. And then go to admin console to PromoteAuthoringToLive (Step 4 below)

  2. This home page belongs in the content section, instead of the site pages section, unlike other landing pages.

  3. Update the required title and description fields, and save changes.

  4. To publish the changes, on header go to Experience Manager (click ‘v' dropdown) → EAC Admin Console → Goto the 3rd tab ‘Scripts’ → Click start on 'PromoteAuthoringToLive’ (see Auto Refresh Status checkbox is checked, so we can see when it is complete.)

4. Once authoring is complete, the changes should be visible on the live site.

  1. Find the landing page based on the page URL, for example for '40-hour-online-rbt-training' look for the page with the name 40-hour-online-rbt-training in the site pages section, under Store US.

2. Perform the step to publish the pages as explained above for the home page.

TwoColumnBrowsePage Template (browse page, customer-support, about-us, etc) this template currently doesn’t have the title and description fields, but this is going to be implemented.

browse page (https://reliasacademy.com/rls/store/browse)

customer support (https://reliasacademy.com/rls/store/customer-support)

  1. Open the RBT landing page based on the URL

    2. Click on the Main Content section, and hit 'Add', this will add the section at the last.

    3. Scroll down the list to select 'HTMLContentRender', and click ok

    4. Click on Enter Text, on the modal select ‘Source’ if you have all the HTML content with styles. (If not you can create the content using the rich text editor options provided.) Just be cautious that this editor does some processing to remove spaces and other corrections.

    5. Once we click the source again, it will preview how the HTML content looks

    6. Hit Save Changes and publish the page (follow the steps specified on how to publish the page explained in making changes for the home page.)
