Navigate to admin in the bottom left corner
Navigate to “Audiences” under the property
Select “New audience”
You then have the option to start from scratch or start from a prebuilt audience. Most audiences are built from scratch so you can fully customize them.
Title the audience in a format similar to:
Nurse GA4 | Cart Abandoners | L30D
This tells everyone this is from Nurse.com’s GA4 instance
These are people who added to their cart but did not make a purchase
The lifetime duration is 30 days for this audience {L30D}
Provide a short description so the user knows what this audience is about
Example: Users who added item to cart & viewed cart but did not purchase. Membership duration 30 days.
Then select the conditions for the included audience.
Example:
This example shows that users adds an item to their cart.
Once conditions are added, check the bottom right to see the size of the audience and check for any errors on being able to pull the size of the audience.
If the audience size is 0, that means the conditions are not correct and the audience will not populate
Now we want to exclude those people who had purchased an item:
Take note on the right side that the excluded bubble shows up and is populated so you know you selected the correct condition.
Once audience is done, press “Save” in the top right corner.
Note: once an audience is built, you cannot go back and edit the conditions. You will need to go back and create a whole new one.
